Bresnahan Holds Second Telephone Town Hall on the Government Shutdown

October 14, 2025

WASHINGTON, DC: Today on the 14th day of the government shutdown, U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan, Jr. (PA-08) held his second telephone town hall of the month to update constituents on the ongoing government shutdown. 13,000 constituents from across Northeastern Pennsylvania tuned in to ask questions and hear directly from Rep. Bresnahan.

“I want to thank everyone who took the time to join our town hall and share their concerns,” said Rep. Bresnahan. “During this government shutdown, it’s more important than ever that we stay connected and work together to support families and communities across Northeastern Pennsylvania. My office remains committed to providing clear information during the shutdown and is open to help anyone who may be affected.”

During the event, Rep. Bresnahan addressed a variety of questions including federal services, effects to air travel and federal assistance programs, and government shutdown-related legislation he has cosponsored.

“It is so important to me that our office continues to get out there and be in touch with the district,” continued Rep. Bresnahan. “This town hall was not only helpful for those who have questions; it was helpful for me to hear what people are most concerned about, and how we can do more for the people of Pennsylvania’s Eighth District.”
