Beyond the Podium: One on one with Congressman Bresnahan
WASHINGTON, D.C. (WOLF) — In his first 100 days in office, Congressman Rob Bresnahan Jr. of Pennsylvania's 8th district has been actively working to introduce and support legislation aimed at making life more affordable for Americans.
Bresnahan, a first-term congressman, has been vocal about his commitment to the people who elected him.
"People took a chance on me, and I have an expectation to deliver," Congressman Bresnahan said.
Bresnahan has introduced H.J.Res.12, a resolution to amend the Constitution to impose term limits on members of Congress.
"Having term limits will have you govern differently. It’s not all about self-preservation saying I have to do this or that it’s about doing the right thing every single day," he said.
Amid discussions on Capitol Hill about potential cuts to programs like Medicaid, Bresnahan has taken a firm stance against reducing benefits for deserving recipients.
"Under zero circumstances will I support any legislation that guts benefits for people that deserve them," he said.
However, he supports reforming benefits for ineligible recipients, including illegal immigrants.
“I am absolutely in favor of reforming ineligible people from receiving benefits,” Bresnahan explained.

While supporting President Trump's tariffs on goods, Bresnahan acknowledges the challenges faced by residents in Northeastern Pennsylvania. He emphasizes the need for clear goals.
“We need to know where the goalpost is, and we need to be working towards that goal post. I think the American consumer and industry is very resilient, but we need to know where we’re rowing the boat to," Bresnahan said.
Bresnahan remains committed to advocating for Northeastern Pennsylvania, regardless of party lines.
"I don’t care if it’s a Republican idea or a Democrat idea, if it’s a good idea for Northeastern Pennsylvania, I’m going to support it," he said.
