Congressional App Challenge
The 2025 Congressional App Challenge is now officially open for students in Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional District!
This annual nationwide competition is a fantastic opportunity for middle and high school students across NEPA to explore STEM, coding, and computer science through hands-on learning and creativity.
Whether you’re a beginner or experienced coder, the Challenge encourages you to build an original app that showcases your innovation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
All submissions are due by October 30th, 2025.
How to Participate:
- Students can submit projects they have coded between October 24th, 2025 and October 30th, 2025
- Submit your project to the Congressional App Challenge website by October 30th, 2025 at 12 pm.
Who Can Enter:
- Middle and high school students currently enrolled in school
- Students can participate individually or in teams of up to 4 people
- Participants must not have graduated high school
What You Can Submit:
- An app built for any platform, using any coding language
- Topics and ideas are completely up to you — get creative!
Examples Include, not limited too:
- Mobile apps
- Websites
- Hardware or robotics projects
- AR/VR experiences
- Anything that involves coding is eligible!
The winning app from PA-08's competition will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol. The winner will also receive a Copyright Fee Waiver through the ARTS Act, be featured on the Congressional App Challenge webpage, and will receive an invitation to the #HouseofCode winner's celebration inside the U.S. Capitol. The winning artwork is also featured on House.gov's Congressional App Challenge page.
