WASHINGTON, DC: Today, U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan, Jr. (PA-08) voted in favor of H.R. 7147, the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act, 2026 and H.R. 7148, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2026. H.R. 7147 passed the House by a vote of 220-207, and H.R. 7148, which includes three of the 12 appropriations bills for Fiscal Year 2026, passed the House by a vote of 341-88.

WASHINGTON, DC: Today, U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan, Jr. (PA-08) announced he, alongside Rep. Dan Goldman (NY-10), introduced the Federal Correctional Officer Paycheck Protection Act. This bipartisan legislation would bring pay for federal correctional officers in line with other federal law enforcement agencies, strengthening recruitment and retention to address the chromic and severe staffing shortages inside federal prisons.

SCRANTON, PA: Today, U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan, Jr. (PA-08) announced that he helped secure nearly $1 million in federal funding for the University of Scranton to support its nationally recognized Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling Program. The funding was awarded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Rehabilitation Services Administration.

WASHINGTON, DC: Today, U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan, Jr. (PA-08) voted in favor of H.R. 6938, the Commerce, Justice, Science; Energy and Water Development; and Interior and Environment Appropriations Act, 2026. This package, which includes three of the 12 appropriations bills for Fiscal Year 2026, passed the House by a vote of 397-28.

WASHINGTON, DC: Yesterday, The Times-Tribune published an editorial recognizing U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan, Jr. (PA-08) for his bipartisan leadership in pushing for action to extend the Affordable Care Act (ACA) enhanced premium tax credits that help keep health insurance affordable for thousands of families across Northeastern Pennsylvania.

WASHINGTON, DC: Today, U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan, Jr. (PA-08) signed Discharge Petition No. 10, offered by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08). The petition would force legislation to the House Floor to extend the Affordable Care Act (ACA) enhanced premium tax credits that are set to expire at the end of this year. He was one of four Republicans to do so, signing with Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01), Mike Lawler (NY-17), and Ryan Mackenzie (PA-07).

WASHINGTON, DC: Today, U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan, Jr. (PA-08) announced he signed Discharge Petition No. 11 to provide for the consideration of H.R. 1908, the End Congressional Stock Trading Act. Rep. Bresnahan signed the petition on December 10, 2025, and was the 37th Member to do so. The petition currently has 67 signatures.
