Bresnahan’s cybersecurity legislation passes House Small Business Committee

WASHINGTON, DC — On Wed. May 20, U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan, Jr. (PA-08) announced the Small Business Competitions Assistance Evaluation Act of 2026, legislation he co-led, passed out the House Committee on Small Business. His legislation, which passed unanimously by a bipartisan vote of 23-0, will ensure small businesses are protected from cybersecurity risks by studying the effects these attacks can have on small businesses.

WASHINGTON, DC — On Thursday, June 5, the U.S. House of Representatives passed Representative Rob Bresnahan’s, Jr. (PA-08) legislation, H.R. 2987, the Capping Excessive Awarding of SBLC Entrants (CEASE) Act. The legislation, which passed by a bipartisan vote of 214-198, will restore responsible and correct oversight capabilities of the Small Business Administration (SBA) for small business lending companies (SBLCs) for which they are the primary regulator.
