Bresnahan Joins Scranton, U.S. Chambers for Tax Reform Roundtable
WASHINGTON, DC: Today, U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan, Jr. (PA-08) joined the Greater Scranton and U.S. Chambers of Commerce for a roundtable discussion with local leaders and stakeholders on tax reform and pro-growth tax policies. During the roundtable, local business leaders shared their stories, priorities, and concerns directly with Rep. Bresnahan and the chambers.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and tax policy and workforce development play a vital role in their growth, hiring, and success,” said Rep. Bresnahan. “I appreciate the opportunity to hear directly from our local business leaders and remain committed to advancing tax policies that support working families. I want to thank the Greater Scranton and U.S. Chambers for their partnership as we work strengthen our communities here in NEPA.”
Rep. Bresnahan was joined at the roundtable by Bob Durkin, President, Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce; Ryan Gleason, Senior Manager of Government Affairs, U.S. Chamber of Commerce; Marianne Gilmartin, Board Chair, Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce; Vince Galko, Government Affairs Chair, Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce; Amy Luyster, Vice President of Business and Workforce Development, Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce; and over a dozen small business owners and leaders.

The roundtable included an overview of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and its impact on local businesses and individuals. Additional topics addressed during the roundtable included availability of capable workforce, healthcare reform, tariffs, and permitting reform. Rep. Bresnahan serves on the Build America Caucus, a bipartisan caucus created to address permitting reform and workforce development.
