Bresnahan announces launch of congressional app challenge
WASHINGTON, DC — on June 24, U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan, Jr. (PA-08) announced the official launch of the Congressional App Challenge for students across Pennsylvania’s Eighth Congressional District. This annual competition is a fantastic opportunity for middle and high school students across Northeastern Pennsylvania to dive into the world of STEM, coding, and computer science through hands-on experience.
“This challenge encourages creativity, critical thinking, and innovation; skills that are vital to maintaining and preparing our future workforce,” said Bresnahan. “I am glad to invite students from across our district to take part in the Congressional App Challenge and showcase the incredible talent we have right here in NEPA.”
Middle and high school students currently enrolled in school and who have not yet graduated are eligible to participate in the Congressional App Challenge by submitting an original app they have coded by October 30, 2025. Students can work solo or in a team of up to four to build anything from mobile apps and websites to robotics or AR/VR projects, using any coding language.
Students interested in participating should submit their project by October 30, 2025, by 12 PM through the Congressional App Challenge website. Additional information on the Congressional App Challenge can be found on Bresnahan’s website.
