Bresnahan to host telephone town hall

March 17, 2025

WILKES-BARRE — U.S. Rep. Rob Bresnahan Jr. on Monday said the best way to address concerns and questions of his constituents is to talk to them directly.

That’s why Bresnahan, R-Dallas Township, said he will hold a telephone town hall meeting on Tuesday, March 25.

“I want to give constituents a direct line to ask and hear about what directly affects them and their families,” Bresnahan said. “I want to make sure the people of the 8th Congressional District hear directly from me and it's also important for me to hear directly from them.”

Bresnahan, noting that things have been “moving very quickly” in Washington, D.C., over the past two months, said he felt the telephone town hall would be the best way to have constituents participate to get their questions answered and their concerns addressed.

“And I will stay on the line to answer all of their questions,” Bresnahan said.

“This event will be sent widely across the district through telephone lines and simultaneously broadcast on Facebook,” Bresnahan said. “A telephone town hall is the best way to reach the largest number of constituents, and it is important to me to hear from as many voices as possible. I am looking forward to having a conversation and speaking directly with the people I represent.”

“I look forward to discussing the important issues of today with the people of Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional District,” Bresnahan said.

Last week, Bresnahan said he voted in favor of H.R. 1968 — Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025 — which passed the House by a vote of 217-213.

The continuing resolution provides funding to operate the Federal government through Sept. 30, 2025.

“My vote will ensure we can stay on the path of securing our borders, making life more affordable and protecting our communities and country,” Bresnahan said. “I look forward to continuing to advocate for what is best for my district and fighting for Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional District.”

Bresnahan said his district is home to more than 10,000 federal employees — or 2.94% of the district’s population.

“I will fight to protect working-class families in Northeastern Pennsylvania and stand with President Trump in opposing gutting Medicaid,” Bresnahan said. “My position on this has not and will not change.”
