Geisinger receives nearly $200 million in funding
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — Congressman Rob Bresnahan is announcing new funding for healthcare providers.
The congressman spoke at Geisinger Wyoming Valley near Wilkes-Barre about the federal Emergency Management Agency's possible release of public assistance funding.
"This is not new money. This is not 200, nearly $200 million of new funds. These are reimbursements that hospitals were already promised for costs incurred during the covid emergency. It's great to see nearly $200 million going to Geisinger, along with nearly 400 million for hospitals and health systems throughout Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania," said Congressman Rob Bresnahan.
Bresnahan announced that the Geisinger system will be awarded nearly $ 200 million, and additional funding will be available to healthcare providers across Pennsylvania.
