House Republicans bring Big Beautiful Bill Tour to NEPA

August 6, 2025

MOUNTAIN TOP, LUZERNE CO. (WOLF) — Among a laundry list of issues addressed in the 'Big Beautiful Bill, including moves that've drawn strong support from some and aggressive opposition from others.

House Republicans are on a tour across America, touting changes that are coming to the nation with the Big Beautiful Bill.

To begin the tour, Chairwoman Lisa McClain is visiting small manufacturers in districts across Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

On August 6th, McClain and Congressman Rob Bresnahan toured i2M in Mountain Top.

Congressman Rob Bresnahan said reducing the overall tax burden was important, and some dangers needed to be addressed if the bill hadn't passed.

“What we would’ve seen is the largest tax increase in American History. We saw the actual extension of the child tax credit. We saw so many no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, the $6000 direct deduction for social security recipients. These are tangible wins for everyday Americans. The top tax rate is still 37 percent, before we passed this bill, and after we passed this bill. This is going to allow people like Chris to be able to reinvest into his company, create more jobs, expand his service lines, and create more economic opportunity right here in Northeastern Pennsylvania,” said Bresnahan.

Investing, innovating, and growing, Bresnahan said, policies from the bill will allow businesses in the National Association of Manufacturers to thrive.

“The average worker will save over $1700 on their tax return and have that money back in their own pocket. Creating the research and development tax credit in incentivizing foreign manufacturers to relocate to districts like Northeastern Pennsylvania and create more economic opportunities, create more jobs, and ultimately be good stewards of taxpayer dollars,” said Bresnahan.

Moving toward a brighter future, Bresnahan shared why NEPA is an area that many can profit from.

“Northeastern Pennsylvania is an incredible place to call home. It’s an incredible place to start a business. And it’s an incredible place to consider, in my personal opinion, the best place in the United States,” said Bresnahan.

Legislators say the One Big Beautiful Bill hopes to continue strengthening American manufacturing.
