Rob Bresnahan takes ceremonial oath as US Congressman

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — It’s a big day for northeastern Pennsylvania’s newest congressman. Long-time judge Correale Stevens administered the ceremonial oath of office on Saturday to Rob Bresnahan at the Luzerne County Courthouse.

Bresnahan defeated incumbent democrat Matt Cartwright in November to represent the Eighth district in the US House of Representatives.

The 34-year-old Dallas Township man entered the race with a business background and no political experience.

He says he is prepared to work hard for our country and his constituents.

“From the get-go, I ran on making life affordable again. I ran on securing the southern border and securing our communities and those are going to be the paramount concerns that I have every single day but I’m going to vote for what’s best for northeastern Pennsylvania every single day,” Bresnahan explained.

“I’ve known Rob for a number of years and I’m happy to see a nice young man like him serving us in congress. I think his heart is in the right place and I’m looking forward to him serving our community and our nation proudly,” said Kingston Attorney David Schwager.
