Bresnahan Recognizes 100 Days in Congress
WASHINGTON, DC: Today, U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan, Jr. (PA-08) released the following statement on his first 100 days as a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives.
“My first 100 days in Congress have been a rewarding opportunity to hit the ground running on results for my district,” said Rep. Bresnahan. “I came to Washington to fight for the people of Northeastern Pennsylvania and champion the values that matter most to our communities. From day one, I have worked to advance legislation to strengthen our economy, support our veterans, secure our borders, and protect our freedoms.
“To those who sent me here: thank you for your trust,” continued Rep. Bresnahan. “Know that every vote I cast is done with all the people of NEPA in mind. There is still much to do, but I remain committed to delivering results for our communities. Here is to the next hundred days, and many more in service to Pennsylvania’s Eighth Congressional District.”
In his first 100 days, Rep. Bresnahan:
- Introduced two pieces of legislation, the Simplifying Forms for Veterans Claims Act, and Eric’s Law.
- Co-led or cosponsored 33 bills, including but not limited to legislation to improve veterans’ access to resources, connect small businesses with career and technical education graduates, address the record number of illegal crossings across our borders, and invest in our next generation workforce.
- Voted to prevent dangerous fentanyl trafficking, fund the government, prevent violence against women by illegal aliens, protect American energy, roll back overreaching government regulations, assist rural small businesses, increase access to relief to taxpayers impacted by natural disasters, improve election integrity, and more.
- Held two in-district roundtables with Cabinet members, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin and Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer.
- Was appointed to the House Committees on Transportation and Infrastructure, Small Business, and Agriculture.
- Was appointed as Vice Chair of the Highways and Transit Subcommittee on the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.
- Helped facilitate a contract deal between Geisinger Health System and the registered nurses at the system’s Luzerne County campuses.
- Sent letters on behalf of PA-08 to UGI Utilities, Pennsylvania State University, FEMA, and others.
- Attended 62 meetings and public events in the district.
- Held a town hall with over 9,000 participants.
- Solved 378 pieces of casework, returning over $500,000 back to constituents of PA-08.
- Joined 25 caucuses, including but not limited to:
- Problem Solvers Caucus
- Aviation Safety Caucus
- Bipartisan Building Trades Caucus
- Children’s Health Care Caucus
- Climate Solutions Caucus
