Bresnahan Votes to Reopen Government, Secures $9 Million for NEPA Projects

February 3, 2026

WASHINGTON, DC: Today, U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan, Jr. (PA-08) voted to reopen and fund the government. The package includes critical funding for national security and defense, health and human services initiatives, housing programs, infrastructure, and more.

“Today’s vote was about doing the basic part of our job: keeping the lights on,” said Rep. Bresnahan. “As we saw during last year’s shutdown, when Washington fails to do our job, it is our working families, seniors, veterans, federal workers, and small businesses that pay the price. We’ve made good progress since by sending 11 of the 12 appropriations bills to the President’s desk but the job’s not done yet. I look forward to working together to fully fund the Department of Homeland Security and ensure FEMA, the U.S. Coast Guard, TSA, the Secret Service, and other critical agencies stay up and running to keep the American people safe.”

Rep. Bresnahan successfully secured $9,000,000 for four projects located throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania, marking a significant federal investment in the region’s future.

“Community Project Funding is about making sure our tax dollars come back home to Northeastern Pennsylvania,” continued Rep. Bresnahan. “These investments support real, locally driven projects that will improve local roads and bridges, help train the next generation of workers, and ensure veterans who served our country have a safe place to call home. I’m proud to deliver funding that strengthens our region, creates jobs, and improves quality of life right here in NEPA.”

The projects are as follows:

  • $3,000,000 for the Wayne & Pike County Career and Technical Center
  • $2,000,000 for the SR 6 Over Wallenpaupack Creek Bridge
  • $1,500,000 for Veterans Permanent Supportive Housing
  • $2,500,000 for the Route 309/Mundy Street Crossroads Improvement Project
