WILKES-BARRE — U.S. Rep. Rob Bresnahan Jr., on Monday sent a letter to Pennsylvania State University President Neeli Bendapudi following the Feb. 25 memoranda by PSU to reevaluate campus locations across the Commonwealth.
Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional District is home to a campus in Scranton and two in Luzerne County — Hazleton and Wilkes-Barre, which sit just outside of Bresnahan’s district and serve a sizable number of his constituents.
In a letter Thursday sure to hearten its backers, U.S. Rep. Rob Bresnahan offers “strong support” for a proposed passenger train between Scranton and New York City.
With supporters worried about the train’s future because of President Donald Trump’s desire to slash federal spending, Bresnahan said the train would boost Northeast Pennsylvania's economy.

That’s why Bresnahan, R-Dallas Township, said he will hold a telephone town hall meeting on Tuesday, March 25.
“I want to give constituents a direct line to ask and hear about what directly affects them and their families,” Bresnahan said. “I want to make sure the people of the 8th Congressional District hear directly from me and it's also important for me to hear directly from them.”
FORTY FORT, PA: Today, U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan, Jr. (PA-08) announced four office locations in Pennsylvania’s Eighth Congressional District. The four offices, located in Forty Fort, Scranton, Hazleton, and Scotrun, will be open Monday – Friday to serve constituents.
