HAZLETON, PA: Today, U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan, Jr. (PA-08) hosted U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Scott Turner in Hazleton for a virtual tour of a local opportunity zone and a roundtable with elected officials, chambers of commerce leaders, and local stakeholders to discuss Opportunity Zones and housing priorities.
When U.S. Housing Secretary Scott Turner and Rep. Rob Bresnahan visited, they saw giant warehouses rising along Route 424 but also heard that workers seeking jobs in the new buildings need housing.
“What they’re seeing,” Bresnahan, R-8, Dallas Twp., said, “is multiple families residing inside of one home working different shifts, sometimes even sharing beds.”
MILFORD, PA: Last week, U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan, Jr. (PA-08) joined local officials and community leaders in Milford to celebrate the re-lighting of the Milford Star. The Milford Star, located in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, was first lit in 1930 and remained a cherished local landmark until it was removed in 2017. Following outreach from residents, Rep. Bresnahan made restoring the landmark a priority, working with community groups and federal officials to help bring the project across the finish line.
WILKES-BARRE — The Shapiro Administration has announced the expanded Property Tax/Rent Rebate (PTRR) program will deliver $226.4 million to nearly 376,000 Pennsylvanians starting this week.
This initial round of rebates began being distributed on Wednesday, July 1, to seniors, widows and widowers, and residents with disabilities who applied for a rebate on property taxes or rent paid in 2025.
EXETER — Town residents and officials, as well as local political leaders, gathered at Exeter Town Hall on Thursday afternoon to not only honor America’s 250th birthday but also to congratulate Eagle Scout Connor Pribula for completing his Eagle Scout project of purchasing and installing 54 American Flags on Wyoming Avenue in the borough.

The main event was to honor Pribula for his effort to raise money, install hardware, and American flags on telephone poles on Rt. 11 in the borough.
