This bipartisan legislation would bring pay for federal correctional officers in line with other federal law enforcement agencies, strengthening recruitment and retention to address the chromic and severe staffing shortages inside federal prisons.

WASHINGTON, DC: Today, U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan, Jr. (PA-08) voted in favor of H.R. 6938, the Commerce, Justice, Science; Energy and Water Development; and Interior and Environment Appropriations Act, 2026. This package, which includes three of the 12 appropriations bills for Fiscal Year 2026, passed the House by a vote of 397-28.
