The bipartisan Simplifying Forms for Veterans Claims Act, would simplify forms required by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for veterans and survivors. Rep. Bresnahan introduced the bill alongside Representative Don Davis (NC-01).

This bipartisan legislation, which passed the House by a vote of 312-108, would remove incentives for the creation of new, dangerous substances by permanently designating fentanyl analogues in schedule 1 of the Controlled Substances Act (CSA).
A Republican-led bill to impose harsher sentences for people convicted of fentanyl-like drug crimes narrowly passed the House on Thursday evening, with 98 Democrats supporting the measure. The GOP-sponsored Halt All Lethal Trafficking, or HALT, Fentanyl Act (H.R.27) will permanently classify drugs that are only slightly chemically different from fentanyl as Schedule I substances, the category reserved for the most dangerous types of drugs.
