WILKES-BARRE — U.S. Rep. Rob Bresnahan Jr. on Tuesday said his first telephone town hall had more than 9,000 constituents of Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional District dial in to the hour-long event.

Bresnahan, R-Dallas Township, said he spoke to constituents and answered their questions over the phone from his Washington, D.C., office.

U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan, Jr. (PA-08) held his first telephone town hall with constituents of Pennsylvania’s Eighth Congressional District. The town hall, which began shortly after 6 PM on Tuesday, March 25, lasted an hour. Rep. Bresnahan spoke to constituents and answered their questions over the phone from his Washington, D.C., office.

U.S. Rep. Rob Bresnahan promised Tuesday to oppose gutting Medicaid, support extending expiring tax cuts and advocate for an agriculture bill that aids family-owned farms.

In his first telephone town hall, Bresnahan, a Luzerne County Republican, twice tackled Medicaid questions including one from a caller who mentioned a television commercial that claims he wants to cut the program.

“To be bluntly honest, the ads that you’re seeing are lies,” Bresnahan said.

WILKES-BARRE — U.S. Rep. Rob Bresnahan Jr., on Monday sent a letter to Pennsylvania State University President Neeli Bendapudi following the Feb. 25 memoranda by PSU to reevaluate campus locations across the Commonwealth.

Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional District is home to a campus in Scranton and two in Luzerne County — Hazleton and Wilkes-Barre, which sit just outside of Bresnahan’s district and serve a sizable number of his constituents.

In a letter Thursday sure to hearten its backers, U.S. Rep. Rob Bresnahan offers “strong support” for a proposed passenger train between Scranton and New York City.

With supporters worried about the train’s future because of President Donald Trump’s desire to slash federal spending, Bresnahan said the train would boost Northeast Pennsylvania's economy.

TOBYHANNA, MONROE CO. (WOLF) — Last week, FOX56 visited the Tobyhanna Army Depot amid rumors and concerns of job security following reductions through Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency. Today we received word that those rumors are untrue from Representative Rob Bresnahan after his visit to the Depot. “Our team went to work with the army house liaison, which relayed from the army material command that the rumors about the shutdown at Tobyhanna Army Depot that the rumors are just rumors,” said Rep.
